LISKEARD HealthFest next Tuesday (18 Sept) offers visitors an opportunity to find out how to be healthy.
To be held at the Echo Centre, Barras Place between 10am and 4pm there will be an opportunity to try something new at free taster sessions as well as the chance of enjoying food and drink provided by The Real Junk Food Project in return for a donation. Taster sessions include creative relaxation, singing and Tai Chi.
Groups from around the town, including the voluntary sector and health and care professionals, will be showing visitors how to stay healthy and it is an opportunity to find out what services are available locally.
Andy Brelsford from Volunteer Cornwall will be explaining what ‘social prescribing’ is - it is due to be launched in Liskeard later this year with the aim of improving health and wellbeing and strengthening communities.
