Tremorvah Industries is throwing open its doors to the public on Wednesday, March 16 to enable people to see what is going on behind the scenes and meet the skilled technicians who repair and service mobility vehicles or print and embroider work and leisure wear.

Tremorvah, which is based at the Threemilestone Industrial Estate, near Truro is staging a special Open Day between 10am and 3.30pm to showcase the wide range of products and services it provides.

The centre, which is supported by Cornwall Council, is a sheltered workshop, with 60% of its current staff having a recognised mental health, physical or learning disability.  One of its main aims is to maximise employment and development opportunities for people with a disability.

It has a proven track record as a stepping stone for people with disabilities to get back into employment by offering work experience and work placements and helping build the confidence and skills for disabled individuals to develop and find permanent employment. It also operates as a commercially focused organisation, providing products and services within Cornwall Council, NHS, the private sector and general public.

As well as offering visitors the chance to tour the site, there will be demonstrations on the range of specialist seating solutions which are available, together with the chance to test out stair lifts, wheelchairs and scooters.

Members of the public will also have the chance to try out the sensory room and see the wide range of specialist equipment available for helping people to stay in their own homes.
