The maternity care at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust continues to be highly rated by mothers, according to a national survey published today.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) National Maternity Survey is a nationwide review of all aspects of maternity care.
Almost 4,500 women have some or all of their maternity care delivered by Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust staff each year.
The maternity department was one of the highest rated in response to questions about women feeling involved in decisions, about both their antenatal and aftercare.
In particular, mothers reported feeling confident that midwives respected their choice as to how they wanted to feed their baby, and that they were given the right amount of guidance when expecting.
Plymouth Hospitals is rated in the top 9% of Trusts for offering emotional support after the birth of a baby.
