MUCH-needed expansion plans at a busy health centre have been given the go-ahead.
Saltash Health Centre is set to use the adjacent former register office to create five new consulting rooms.
The centre, which has around 13,000 patients on its books, currently only has about half of the space it needs. And practice manager Lynn Cheery says that an influx of new patients are anticipated as a new major housing development at Broadmoor Farm takes shape.
The Health Centre’s partners would also like to be able to move into a recently vacated clinic on the site, and discussions are ongoing with NHS Property services, which owns this part of the building.
