The most recent data for coronavirus cases in East Cornwall shows a mixed picture, with cases rising quite sharply in some areas and falling slightly in others.
The figures, updated by the government yesterday (Thursday January 14) show how many positive cases were recorded in an area in the seven days up to January 9th, and compares this to the previous week.
Bodmin West is currently showing 65 cases, up 25 from the previous week, and in Bodmin East there are 64 positive cases, up 39.
Saltash town and Pillmere recorded 31 cases in the seven days to Jan 9th, which is up by 12.
Dobwalls, Addington and Menheniot records 27 positive tests, up 10.
Cases have fallen slightly in Callington and Pensilva, where there were 14 cases recorded up to January 9th , down 15, and in Liskeard there are currently nine cases, down six
Torpoint currently shows nine cases, down three, and Looe and Polperro had three cases recorded in the week to January 9th, up one.
The total number of positive cases currently recorded in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly is 2,046, up by 179 on the previous week, and this means a rate of infection of 358 people per 100,000, putting Cornwall on a par with many cities in the UK.
