Care home Kilmar House, in Higher Lux Street, Liskeard, has received a good rating from regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
However, management and staff say they are taking most satisfaction from the residents’ feedback noted by the inspector.
This was the home’s first inspection under the new ratings system and manager Stephen Corcoran said the inspector noted that ‘the management team led by example and this had resulted in staff adopting the same approach and enthusiasm in wanting to provide a good service for people’.
The residents spoke highly of the home, staff and manager and with warmth on its family atmosphere. It was also highly commended for its approach to care, where residents are placed at the centre of everything that is done.
