A TEENAGE girl underwent a complete headshave to raise money and awareness for a charity. Katie Langsford, 17, from Liskeard, has so far raised £487 for the British Lung Foundation (BLF). Katie undertook to lose her locks in support of her sister, Liskeard mum-of-four Samantha Constance, 33, who was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) three years ago. Dobwalls hairdresser Avril Wagner removed Katie’s hair at the Barley Sheaf pub in Liskeard. Her first task was to cut off 15 inches in two long plaits which have been sent to the Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children with cancer. Avril then set about removing the rest of Katie’s hair. Katie has a Facebook group – Headshave for BLF – through which she gives advice to people who leave messages asking about COPD. ‘I am just happy to pass on contact information for the appropriate agencies,’ said Katie.
