A FREE discount card for Cornish residents is offering 20% off entry to activities at leisure centres in the county.

Paralympian Dave Wetherill was at Newquay Trampoline and Play Park to launch the Cornwall Card before heading to Tokyo to compete in the table tennis.

Free to residents until 31 August 2021, the Cornwall Card offers discounts off non-member prices at all Better leisure centres in Cornwall.

Swimming, trampolining and soft play are all covered by the card, and savings range from £1 to £2.80 each time.

GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that operates under the Better brand and runs centres throughout the county on behalf of Cornwall Council.

Councillor Richard Pears, Portfolio Holder for Customers, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to get back to enjoying the activities they missed during lockdown. Cornwall Council and GLL are committed to providing affordable activities for all residents and I urge people to take advantage of the Cornwall Card offer.”

You can get hold of a card by visiting www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/cornwall or by going into one of the centres. Cards will cost £20 per adult and £10 per child from September 1.
