HANDMADE cotton facemasks sold in a South East Cornwall shop have raised almost £750 for the Plymouth and SE Cornwall Samaritans.
The owner of LisKards card shop, Pam Malin, decided to support the cause when she saw a social media post from Sylvia Berry saying she had a few spare masks to donate to a charity after making them for key workers.
Sylvia, an ex-NHS worker herself and local crafter from Liskeard, has now provided over 300 masks which have been sold at the card shop, with 100% of the donations going to the local charity.
Norman Holmes, director of the Plymouth branch of Samaritans, visited the shop to meet Sylvia and thank her for her contribution.
Sylvia has agreed to continue making the masks for a while longer so that LisKards can continue raising much-needed money for Samaritans locally.
