YOUNG people in Callington have received a £7,000 grant from the Cornwall Community Foundation's Local Network Fund. The grant has been made to Callington Youth Action Group to fund computer, sound and filming equipment, which will be used to help secure better facilities and services for young people in the town Stacey Tozer, chair of Callington Youth Action Group, said: 'Receiving the grant was a fantastic Christmas present. 'The new equipment will make a big difference to our work and we're absolutely delighted.' Andrew Middleton, chief executive of the Cornwall Community Foundation, said: 'The Cornwall Community Foundation is all about making a genuine difference to the lives of local people. We're very pleased to be able to support the young people of Callington in making their town a better place to live.' The group will screen Callington Could Be Cool, a film of young people's aspirations for the future of the town, at 7.30pm on January 31 at their annual general meeting at Callington Town Hall. Callington Youth Action Group is supported in partnership by Caradon District Council, Cornwall Rural Community Council, Cornwall Youth Service and Callington Town Council.
