A SOUTH East Cornwall organisation is calling for new recruits as it prepares for a 125th birthday party.

Next year marks the 125th anniversary of the Girls’ Brigade and Dobwalls members say they are already getting in the party mood.

Dobwalls has two groups, both meeting on Tuesday evenings. The younger ones, in school years one to three, meet in Dobwalls chapel schoolroom from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. The older ones, in school years four and upwards, meet from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Leaders say: ‘It’s all about learning – learning skills and crafts and a bit of some of the good stuff that’s in the Bible. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment. It’s not about marching up and down and singing hymns!’
