Morval's Grace Church looks set to win planning approval for an extension to its building after convincing the local authority of its 'green' credentials! Caradon District Council was due yesterday to consider a recommendation to approve the church's application to erect an extension and new main entrance. In 2004, permission for a much larger extension and car park, aimed at accommodating additional members, was refused because of the effect it would have on the surrounding Area of Great Landscape Value. The current application is recommended for approval. Councillors were told the church had submitted a green travel plan to accompany the application, and had recently opened two new churches in Bodmin and Torpoint to cater for extra members. The proposed extension was considered 'reasonable' provision for the existing church membership.
