LOOE has been invited by Gorseth Kernow to host the 2008 annual gathering of Cornish Bards. The letter of invitation to hold the prestigious Cornish Gorseth, which would be on September 6 and 7, from the secretary of the Grand Bard, was read out at Monday's full town council meeting. Mayor Ron Overd said everyone was delighted to accept the honour for Looe, and a suitable venue would now be sought. 'Whatever site is chosen, it is hoped that a grand procession of the blue robed Cornish Bards will be made around the town,' he said.
