Another hectic weekend for Looe Golf Club saw the sixth round of the Winter League. Dennis Edwards showed what fine form he is in at present ably assisted by Alan Winterson they amassed the total of 47 points, with Murdo MacDonald and Dave Hussey with an excellent 45 points in second place. Two groups finished one point behind on 44 points to share third place, Colin Hewling and Brian Norman along with Eddie Bray and Colin Mutton.
Sunday saw the December Medal, once again Dennis Edwards was there - but oh dear, he will rue the 18th where he took nine - that hole cost him dearly. Murdo Macdonald showed that the day before was no fluke recording a net 66, just losing out on countback to finish runner up in division one. Dennis Edwards had the consolation and winning division two. Pete Kinver showed a pleasing return to form to finish runner up in division two. Jack Edwards headed division three on count back in division three with the first four players all finishing on 71.

Every year the Whitsand Bay Golf Club Veteran Section selects a charity to donate their money to. This year's charity, selected by Captain Mr Chris Hancock, was the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
At our 1999 Christmas Dinner and AGM the total amount of £1100 generously donated by our members was presented to Mr Ted Clarke, RNLI by Mr Chris Hancock, who would also like to thank all the generous donors of prizes for our various events.
As you can see the money has gone to these brave and fearless seamen.
