Golf- John and Shirley Nicholls win Looe's Morley medal
Saturday saw the Morley Medal Mixed Competition, played at Looe Golf Club on a foursome medal format. Leading the field were John and Shirley Nicholls, with a net 69, one ahead of Phil and Min green with a net 70, Danny Lewis and Anne Beswetherick were just one shot behind in third place with a net 71. Unfortunately the Sunday June Medal had to be abandoned when a cloudburst flooded the course. This event will now take place on 23rd July.

Clear weather greeted the 60 plus starters for Looe's Dawn Plate recently when all golfers tee-off between 5.30 am and 6.30 am but horrendous weather was forecast - fortunately most of the golfers got around before the heavy storms closed the course.
John Kinver showed the field a clean pair of heels with 41 points - ahead of Tommy Hunn - Ed Shapland and Alan Winterson all on 40 points and it was nice to see Matt Sutton up amongst the prize winners.

Lostwithiel Golf club Ladies played for the Peggy James Hi-Lo Cup on May 16. Winners, with 31 points, were Di Sobey and Sue Crocker. The Grace Cup was played on 23rd May. Three ladies all scored 38 points, the winner on countback being Lydia Stevens. Congratu-lations to these ladies.
Culdrose were the visitors in a Merlin league match, the home team were the winners. A friendly match home against St Enodoc ladies also resulted in a Lostwithiel win. Friday mixed continue being popular. On May 7th winners were Di Sobey and Dave Saget, May 14th Trivia Night winners Chris Ruse, Lydia Stevens, Geoff Saunders and Tony Coe.
