A total of 40 teams of four competed in blustery conditions which did not deter Mr I Crawford scoring a hole in one on the ninth. This was the second year that such a feat has been scored in the competition.
In the evening Round Table chairman, Francis Marshall, thanked all the sponsors and asked main sponsor, Kevin Williams of the Roseland Group, to present the prizes. First prize went to the Peake GB Ltd team of Richard and Nicky Brenton and Gary and Fiona Arundel who amassed ll7 points and won a Weststar Holiday. In second place were Messrs Dunn, Lord, Sercombe and Cleave who, with 114 points, won on countback from the Liskeard police team of Messrs Larry Evans, Colin Farrelly, Ian Greening and P Warne who were then placed third.
The individual first prize for gentlemen went to Mr Warne with Mr J Williams second and Mr P Jefford third. The first lady was Mrs F Arundel with Mrs G Evans second and Mrs N Brenton third. Mr J Williams won the prize for the longest drive, Mr C Farelly took the award for 'nearest the pin' and Ben's Bandits (G Bennett, M Nicholls, G Hatham and I Sobey) were judged the most improved team.
The day, which raised in excess of £2,000 for local charities, ended with a casino and disco. Round Table members thanked all their sponsors, particularly main sponsors Roseland and Rowes Honda.
