Lostwithiel Golf Club
Lostwithiel Golf and Country Club's Charity Day on Sunday attracted a record 160 golfers and raised in excess of £1,000 for Mount Edgecumbe Hospice.
Thankfully the weather was good and with the course in excellent condition all players enjoyed a great day's golf. The competition was a stableford, with two scores counting from teams of four.
The winning team with a score of 80 (47 on the back 9) was Steve and Becky O'Donnvan, John Crocker and Tam Sneddon from Elfordleigh and China Fleet.
Second were Geoff and Andy Saunders, Chris Ruse and Lydia Stevens, also with 80 points (42 on the back 9). Third-placed, also on 80 (41 on the back 9), Geof Way, Tim Searle, Steve Crose and Brian Warne, both teams from Lostwithiel.
Winners of the longest drive on the ninth were Ben Graves and Becky O'Donnvan. Paul Gerry won the nearest to the pin on the 17th. There was a total of 13 twos.
The captains would like to thank all golfers who contributed to such a successful day.

Looe Golf Club
Looe held the Callington Trophy, a better ball Stableford competition, on Sunday.
In lovely spring like conditions scoring was good and the powerful combination of Wayne Voden and Phil Green, scoring an excellent 42pts, took the event from former winners Ian Hawke and Tommy Hunn, who finished on 41 points.
Jan Gardner and Brian Skelton headed the best of the 40 pointers to take third place from the low handicap pairing of Barrie Evans and Kevin Small.
The club have just returned from a successful trip to Brittany – 44 golfers, transported by double-decker luxury coach by Nigel Haimes via Brittany Ferries – took part in a three-day golfing extravaganza.
Heading the list and tournament winner was Dave Allen on 105 points - finishing first ahead of Phil Pond (who had led the field for two days) on 99. Danny Lewis finished third on 98 points.

Whitsand Bay Veterans
WHITSAND Bay Veterans played a 2 from 3 Stableford on Tuesday April 16th.
Winners were: J Trevail, D Foster, T Dart 84pts; T Doyle, D Smart, G Turner 79; F Glanville, P Moore, G Knox 73.
On Friday they played their Monthly Medal.
Winners were: Div 1: J Trevail 75-10-65; T Dart 83-16-67. Div 2: J Maddever 91-20-71; A Sykes 97-25-72.
Lombard Trophy
BIGGER prize money, more regional qualifying opportunities - are this year's major boosts to Europe's biggest and most popular pro-am, the Lombard Trophy.
And it all begins on Monday (April 29) over the East course at Saunton, North Devon, where the South West regional final will test the skills of almost 80 pro-am pairings.
Sponsors, the Royal Bank of Scotland, have increased the professional prize fund by £12,000, making a total of £75,000. There are also 16 regional finals - two more than last year - throughout Britain and Ireland.
The winning partnership from each regional final will travel to Portugal for five days in September.
The Lombard trophy has an entry this season of more than 100,000 club golfers from all over Britain and Ireland.
Among those qualifying for the tournament are Looe professional Alistair MacDonald 60, who has been the club professional at Looe for 12 years and Tom Hunn (amateur).
Tom, 62, is now retired and lived in Liskeard with his wife and has two sons. He won his club qualifying round on March 3.
He has been playing golf for 22 years and plays off a handicap of 11. Tony Nash, 35, has been the club professional at Lostwithiel for five years and Dave Saget, 36, is a Postman from Fowey where he lives with his wife.
He won his club qualifying round on April 6 with a nett score of 69. He has been playing golf for ten years and plays off a handicap of three.
Dave Moon, 34, has been club professional at St Mellion for eight and a half years and Ian Edwards, 51, is a Marine Engineer from Saltash.
He is married with three daughters. He won his club qualifying round on March 9 with a nett score of 68. He has been playing golf for 15 years and plays off a handicap of 12. His hobbies, apart from golf, include DIY.
Nick Cook, 29, has been the club professional at China Fleet for 18 months and Jon Mackness, 41, is a Production Designer from St Judes, Plymouth. He won his club qualifying round on March 2. He has been playing golf for five years. His hobbies, apart from golf, include football.
