Once again LANHYDROCK was blessed with a warm and sunny day for the ladies captain day.

Captain, Hacker Browning (daughter in law of the famous author Daphne du Maurier) decided on an individual stableford competition with 7/8 handicap allowance.

There was a very full entry for this competition, with almost all the ladies taking part. Hacker and husband Kits were there by the first tee with a warm welcome.

Hacker had arranged for a hospitality tent to be put up between the 9th green and the 10th tee. (after playing nine holes, this indeed must be one step from heaven).

There, we were all treated to a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit, assorted chocolate bars and crisps, with the lady captain, ably assisted by vice captain Chris Blackborrow's husband Mike, serving the drinks.

Prize winners: Nearest the pin on the 15th, Ann Syph; longest drive, Petra Paynter; best front nine, Tanis Boxall; best back nine, Sylvia Rawle; in 3rd place overall, Sheila Marwood with 37pts; in 2nd place on count back, Cathy Burchell also 37pts; in 1st place the winner, Jacqueline Wheeler with 39pts.

Jacqueline then thanked the lady captain for a truly memorable day.
