ST STEPHENS Borough have an awful lot to do to avoid relegation from the East Cornwall League's Premier Division, but if they continue to play like this then it could be a possibility.

In a closely-fought local derby with Saltash United, the Borough will feel unlucky not to have picked up at least a point.

Said Ashes manager Joe Pulley: 'It was a close game and Borough will feel they deserved a point.'

The only goal of the game came in the first half when Matt Glendinning slammed the ball home from 25 yards.

Borough responded with James Felipe striking the crossbar, followed by Josh Tapp slamming an effort against the home crossbar.

Saltash just about had the better of the chances in the second half with defender Callum O'Brien pushing them on and Scott Wellington fired against the post from a Mark Toms cross. The game flowed from end to end, with neither side able to find the target.
