People in the Looe area being encouraged to dance their socks off and donate for the towns defibrillator appeal.
Looe’s Social Club is getting ready to host a 12-hour danceathon this Good Friday (15 April), and making sure the music flows will be resident DJ Ant and Mike Allsopp of Radio Looe.
“This event will run from 12 noon to 12midnight on Friday and will be open to both club members and the general public,” said Hilary Wright of the social club committee.
“Anyone who wishes to dance, for as little or as long as they wish, can get sponsorship or just put a donation in the bucket.
“Anyone who just wants to come along and support will also be more than welcome.”
The Social Club says that while it can’t accommodate anyone under the age of 15, families will be welcome in the bottom bar of the venue during the event.
“None of us ever knows when we might need a defibrillator so we just want this event to be a success for the sake of the appeal,” Hilary continued.
“The appeal needs to raise £16,000 by May 2022 to cover the cost of providing lifesaving training to our community and extend our defibrillator contract for another four years.
“We look forward to seeing you all for a fun day with good music and a great atmopshere, supporting a very important cause.”
Sponsorship forms are available at Looe Social Club and at the Harbour Office.
