GARDENS in South East Cornwall will once again be opening to the public in the spring to raise money for National Garden Scheme (NGS) charities. Coombegate Cottage at St Ive is an NGS regular. The one-acre valley-side garden promises to be fragrant, colourful and brimming with seasonal favourites. The garden is due to open from 1pm to 4pm on two Sundays – March 6 and 13. The admission charge for adults will be £3.50 while children will be admitted free. Homemade teas will be available in the nearby village hall. Ince Castle, near Saltash, is another regular NGS supporter. The gardens at the 17th century property feature spring bulbs, apple trees, woodland and a shell house. They are due to open from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, March 13, and Easter Sunday, March 27. Admission £4 (children free). Home-made teas will be available.
