Plans for local health care are on the agenda for a community group in Saltash and Torpoint.

Residents of the Cornwall Gateway Community Network area can find out more about plans for local health and care at the Community Network Panel’s meeting on October 27.

The panel will discuss the NHS Sustainability and Transformation Plan for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, which outlines plans to transform local health and care services over the next five years.

Community development worker Ffion Stanton will give a presentation about the work of Young People Cornwall in the network area.

And Andrew George, Director of Cornwall Community Land Trust, will be on hand to tell the Panel about not-for-profit community land trusts, which are run by volunteers and develop housing at affordable levels for long-term community benefit.

In addition to this, the agenda includes updates on the panel’s priorities - south-east Cornwall’s economy, the Local Devolution Fund, the town and parish council newsletter and neighbourhood plans.

The panel’s chair, Cornwall Councillor Bob Austin, said: ‘We know that affordable housing, health and social care, and provision for young people are all key issues for local people.

‘Everyone is welcome to come along and learn more about what’s happening and what it means for our area. There’s also an opportunity to meet your local parish, town and Cornwall councillors.’

The Panel includes all eight Cornwall councillors for the area and representatives of the 11 parishes in the community network: Antony, Botus Fleming, Landrake with St Erney, Landulph, Maker-with-Rame, Millbrook, Saltash, Sheviock, St Germans, St John and Torpoint.

The meeting takes place on October 27 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in the Council Chamber, Saltash Town Council, Lower Fore Street, Saltash PL12 6JX.
