A CORNISH village pub has gone the 'whole hog' with its fundraising by holding a pig racing event.
The Who'd Have Thought It Inn at St Dominick teamed up with Callington Young Farmers to host the charity evening organised by Claire Martin and Luisa Glinn.
The pair say they were inspired to use pigs after watching videos of American pig racing online – and Claire's husband Paul, a pig breeder, was happy to provide the miniature competitors.
The 12-week-old piglets, complete with saddles and soft toy 'jockeys', battled it out across six races and were cheered on with great enthusiasm by children and adults alike.
Claire and Luisa have raised around £600 so far, to be distributed to a number of local charities, including The Henry Hallam Appeal. Hugs for Henry was founded to raise funds to support the treatment of four-year-old Henry Hallam from Plymouth, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in September last year. Neuroblastoma is the most common type of embryonal tumour, affecting just under 100 children a year in Britain.
