Fuel prices are killing this country. Doesn't the Government realise or care that when fuel goes up so does the price of everything we buy because everything is carried by a fuel-burning vehicle at some time? It is also affecting the tourist trade in Cornwall because people cannot afford to come on holiday. Since wages are not going up, we all have to cut back on luxuries. I travel a lot in my job so I notice the price of fuel at different petrol stations. The same suppliers, such as BP, Esso, and Shell, have different prices up country than they are down here in Cornwall. Why do their prices vary so much when it all comes from the same place? The way that fuel is taxed is immoral because we pay VAT on a tax – fuel tax is put on first and then VAT added. Surely a tax on a tax is wrong? When are we British going to get the bulldog spirit back and stand up and be counted and all let the Government know what we think.
