OFFICERS from the French Navy have been getting a taste of British training during a visit to HMS Raleigh. A group of 11 trainee officers spent two days at the training establishment in Torpoint. As well as finding out the differences between the training methods, the groups also worked together to tackle HMS Raleigh's assault course. Commander Phil Waterhouse, commandant of the Defence Maritime Logistics School, said: 'Our relationship with the French Navy is very important, not least because we regularly deploy on operations alongside each other. 'Exchanges such as these provide an excellent basis for mutual understanding of the way each Navy operates and, particularly in our case, in the specialist area of logistics.'
