Under-17s in the Looe area are being offered a free ride into town to enable them to make use of sports facilities. Funding has been obtained by the police for the under-17s to travel into Looe and use the facilities at Looe Community School. The three local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), Steve Cocks, Dave Billings and Tom Barnes, assisted by the Youth Service, are giving young people the opportunity to come into Looe on a Wednesday evening to use the multi-use games area or the sports hall, together with the Youth Centre. There are a variety of sports available and sport coaches will be on site throughout the evenings, which will run from 7-9pm. The project will run until December, 2007. Pick-up points and times are: Duloe village hall – 6pm, Lanreath shop – 6.15pm, Pelynt village hall – 6.20pm, Polperro main car park (Beddoes) – 6.30pm, Killigarth bus stop – 6.35pm.
