MORE than 40 groups and clubs will be offering free activities for all ages as Liskeard Town Council hosts its annual Community Fair.

This year’s event is set to be the ‘biggest and best yet’ say organisers, who are promising giant knitting, Cornish dancing and delicious food at this year’s event.

Town Councillor Rachel Brooks said: ‘There’s a real buzz around this year’s Community Fair. There will be lots going on in different rooms at the Public Hall and out on the Parade.

‘Why not have a go at making your own badge with the new Lyskerrys magazine, try giant knitting with 3 Bags Full or play some fun games with Liskeard Bowls Club. It’ll also be a great opportunity to explore all the great things going on in our town and find out how you can get involved.’

The team from The Real Junk Food Project will be providing food during the fair - and there will be guest appearances from Cornish dancers Scoots Kernow, the Caradon Youth Choir and the Wham Bam theatre company.

Soft play and children’s fun will be going on in the News Liskeard Room with Liskeard Community Action, the Dreadnaught Centre and Creative Relaxation.

Liskeard in Bloom will be at the fair with pot herbs and flowers and there will also be the chance to buy local crafts, homemade cakes and bric-a-brac from stalls including the Liskerrett Centre, Marie Curie, Inner Wheel and the RNA.
