THE long-running Cornish Times campaign to support local shopkeepers received a boost this week when Cornwall Council agreed to offer free parking on a specified day for readers who display a special voucher printed in the paper.

The free day will be on leap year day, Wednesday, February 29. We will be printing the special voucher for you to display in your car to take advantage of this initiative. The council is currently drawing up a list of the car parks which will be included in the scheme and it is expected the scheme will cover at least one in each town centre in Liskeard, Looe, Saltash, Torpoint, Callington and Fowey.
