Former naval serviceman Paul Goodall handed over two cheques for charity recently. Paul, who is from Torpoint, had his naval career cut short after an accident, and has lost both of his legs. He is the Plymouth and South East Cornwall welfare representative for BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Servicemen's Association) and looks after more than 40 members who have lost limbs, an eye, or are unable to walk. Last October, he cycled ten miles around the HMS Raleigh parade ground in a specially-adapted tricycle, and has raised a total of £1,844. Paul presented a cheque for £922 to Steve Lewis, chairman of the Torpoint British Royal Legion (RBL) branch, who received it on behalf of the RBL for Cornwall. A cheque for £922 also went to BLESMA Ancaster Home, Crieff, Scotland. Major John Francis Rtd, the South West area welfare officer for BLESMA, received it on their behalf.
