Where do Liskeard town councillors think all the money is coming from to pay for all their hair brained schemes?.

Grants etc., from the E.U. and other areas only cover about 50 per cent, the rest has to be found by the bodies requesting it.

The precept prior to the Parade for the town, was the highest in the county. Now we have £4,000 for flowers and £9,000 for policing extra to find annually.

This degeneration scheme has cost around £90,000. Now they plan to spend £1million on a canal which with about six locks in the two miles or so left will be useless for barges etc. to use. Still not content with this, Webbs would cost over £2 million to buy and refurbish.

Caradon has no money (so they say). They could not afford £67 to paint a bungalow and do any necessary work as there is no cash available.

I find the pavements are in a disgusting state, and suggest the Mayor be pushed in a wheelchair from the station to Luxstowe. He would then understand the unnecessary additional pain endured by rheumatic sufferers. The roads are much smoother but more dangerous.

I think councillors should get their priorities right. Liskeard is not a holiday resort and never will be.

Let us bring in Industry, and forget the holiday trade. It is the reason the county is so poor.
