The Blues held their nerve to claim a home quarter-final against Truro City in the Durning Lawrence Cornwall Charity Cup. The game finished with the two teams locked together at 1-1 but it was Liskeard who held their nerve, scoring four penalties while Bodmin missed two of their four to send the home fans home happy. Matt Penry fired the Blues into a 13th minute lead with a rising drive from 25 yards that flew into the top corner of Sid Taylor's goal. Paul Baker missed a good chance to increase Liskeard's lead before Bodmin hit back with Huw Morgan and Andy Watkins both wasting good chances. Watkins then saw his 20-yard drive tipped over the bar by Simon Zinn before Andy Sargent headed home only to be given offside. Bodmin came at Liskeard after the break and finally equalised in the 68th minute as a Watkins cross was headed back by Owen Pickard for Ryan Cross to bundle the ball over the line. The Blues could have snatched victory in normal time as good work by Adam Carter ended with him firing in a cross that was met first time by Lee Harvey only for Taylor to block his effort. Extra time could not separate the sides, who were left to endure the lottery of the penalty shoot-out which thankfully for Blues fans went the way of their favourites.
