It's been a week of mixed fortunes for Liskeard with the Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier side beating St Austell 2-1 in the League cup on Tuesday but the Jewson side losing 3-1 at St Blazey in the Cornwall Charity cup on Wednesday.

"It wasn't the best of games", conceded Liskeard second team joint manager Martin Hodge "but we got through thatwas the main thing." Colin Barrett with his 20th goal of the season gave Liskeard a lead which Steve West increased. St Austell replied just minutes from time.

Liskeard were soon chasing the game at St Blazey, Gary Dyer scoring after just 12 minutes. Eight minutes later they trailed 2-0. Darren Gilbert won a ball in midfield and found Glyn Hooper who turned his marker and found the target from 20 yards.

Dyer sealed St Blazey's win 20 minutes from time. Liskeard pulled a goal back in the last minutethrough Jason Powell.
