Two well-matched sides produced a pulsating 90 minutes of all action soccer at Lux Park on Tuesday. Before an encourging crowd it was Millbrook who looked the more likely in early exchanges but Liskeard were then to enjoy a good period of pressure and opened their account when the ever improving James Gill beat visiting 'keeper Mark Henwood having been put through one-on-one.

But Millbrook continued to have a big say and it was Dominic Richardson who intercepted a poor crossfield defensive pass and beat Vinny Bowman.

At the start of the second half Millbrook again pressed forward although it was Liskeard who were to make another breakthrough when a crossfield ball from Lee Beer picked out the prolific Mark Skerton. In the blink of an eye he slammed the ball past Henwood from the angle of the six yard area.

Minutes later a jubilant Liskeard bench were celebrating another goal and it was that man Skirton who again provided the finish somehow lobbing the ball in despite the close attention of two Millbrook defenders.

It looked all over for Millbrook as Liskeard pressed forward with Henwood saving brilliantly from James Lynch and then pushing a drive from Gill around the post.

But their was indeed a nail biting climax to an excellent contest. Richardson lifted visiting hopes with a second 10 minutes from time and then it was only a tremendous saves from Bowman following a power headed from 'Trigger' Crowley that denied Millbrook an equaliser and ensured that the Blues go back to the top of the League.
