St Stephens had effectively killed this match off by the interval as they swept into a 3-0 lead. John Busher, dropped back into midfield after boring the rest of the team rigid with stories of his goal-scoring exploits in previous matches, struck the first (much to the dismay of his team-mates!) after some good work by Martin Crofts. Ross Grimwood doubled the lead with a low shot past the visiting goalkeeper, while the third will be credited to Nick Yeo.

Borough moved further in front right at the start of the second period, after a wayward cross from Busher failed to find the head of a team-mate but somehow found its way into the top corner of the net. Tintagel pulled one back through Howard Easterfield. The last word on the scoring went to Busher, and he spent the rest of the evening 'entertaining' his team-mates. A low shot into the far corner of the net meant he completed his hat-trick before he was substituted, much to the relief of the rest of the side.

Given Tintagel's previous results, this was an excellent score for Borough. Although their performance dropped off a little in the second half, the game was already won thanks some sharp, incisive football in the first period. In truth, the scoreline could have been greater with both Lee Stapleton and Nick Yeo having chances towards the end of the match. With 10 points from a possible 12, Borough can go into two difficult away games in good heart.
