New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Cornwall’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Mermaid Inn, a pub, bar or nightclub at Alexandra Road, Newquay, Cornwall was handed a one-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 4.

And Phoenix Cinema Bar And Restaurant, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Merlin Cinemas Ltd, The Phoenix Cinema, 11 Berkeley Vale, Falmouth was given a score of four on January 4.
