Pupils at Torpoint School have been set the challenge of producing a two-course meal, costing less than £1.50, which could be served in a school canteen.
The challenge is part of the St Ivel award in food technology and home economics. The Year 8 pupils also have to complete design work to gain the award.
So far more than 20 youngsters have passed the test and won certificates to keep in their record of achievement folders.
Sue Vincent from the school's food technology department is really pleased with the response.
She said: "Well done to all the students. They have created excellent quality paperwork and mouth-watering dishes that would be wonderful in the school canteen."
The successful students are: Victoria Armitage, Kelly Callow, Paul Livick, Charles Page, Daniel Smith, Claire Stentiford, Jason Turner, Jordan Coles, Dean Hoskisson, Bianca Stacey, Ross Stephenson, Samantha Stephenson, David Taylor, Harriet Thompson, Daniel Thornton, Robert Tilsley, Andrew Warden, Jessica Waters, Sarah Watts, James Wheatley, Rebecca White, Lila Woodfield, Alan McDowell, Kenneth Stovell and Gary Toms.
