A Polperro man will be taking on an extreme fitness feat to help children in war-torn Syria.

James Overton plans to do 1,000 tractor tyre flips on Saturday, February 18, starting at 11am.

James hopes to raise £2,000 to provide emergency first aid equipment and medical supplies for children in Aleppo and other places affected by humanitarian crisis.

The sporting challenge is just part of two days of events organised by James during a ‘weekend for Syrian children’ in Polperro.

An open-mic evening in the Ship Inn, hosted by Ben Criddle, will take place on the Saturday night.

On Sunday, February 19, local supporters are invited to a ‘bring a dish’ fund-raiser at the Royal British Legion. The RBL event will begin at 2pm, with live music from Simon Whittaker from 3pm.
