The latest Bake Lakes open match took place on Flamingo Lake on Valentine's Day (February 14). To add a extra challenge to the contest, anglers were limited to the use of only two baits – maggots and corn. Even with these restrictions, competitors produced some excellent weights of fish from the 14 pegs, which mainly consisted of carp to 10-lb.

The biggest surprise of the day was 15-year-old Sam Blackwell, who secured third place overall.
