Tickets for the world premiere of Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical at the Hall for Cornwall are now available on general release – having already broken box office records in advance sales to members.

The show will be the first major production to take to the stage following the ongoing multi-million pound transformation of Hall for Cornwall in the centre of Truro, and performances will be held from Wednesday 13 October to Saturday 30 October.

Julien Boast, CEO and Creative Director at Hall for Cornwall said: “We’ve had a fantastic response so far and it shows the affection people have for the Fisherman’s Friends story and how much people have missed live theatre.

“Later this month we will be unveiling further highlights of our launch autumn season with an exciting programme of shows, including live music, comedy, contemporary dance and a major new stage play and West End musicals. We can’t wait to raise the curtain on our fantastic new auditorium, Cornwall Playhouse.”

Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical charts the rise of Port Isaac’s famous sea shanty group and their major record deal signed in 2010. Since then Fisherman’s Friends have performed for Her Majesty the Queen, played Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage and entertained hundreds of thousands of fans at home and abroad, winning numerous awards along the way.

The musical has been adapted from the 2019 hit film Fisherman’s Friends, which grossed $11.5m worldwide. It will feature many of the much-loved sea shanties made famous by the group, including Keep Haulin’, Nelson’s Blood, No Hopers Jokers & Rogues, Sweet Maid Of Madeira and many more.

The Grade II listed Hall for Cornwall in the heart of Truro closed its doors in 2018 for the start of a major multi-million-pound transformation. Three hundred new seats in the totally redesigned three-tiered Cornwall Playhouse auditorium will take its capacity to 1,352, meaning it can attract bigger shows.
