A seven-year-old with cerebral palsy has become the first child to undergo an operation in the UK which could enable him to walk unaided.

Beau Britton, from Kelly Bray, travelled to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol earlier this month for the pioneering surgery which aims to permanently reduce spasticity in muscles. His mother Tracy Britton says it will be 'a year or two' before they start to see the full effects but that already Beau's life has improved.
