Mad Dog Mcrae, The Huckleberry Finns, Kernow King and The Viewers will be among the acts entertaining the crowds on the main stage as last-minute plans for a new music festival in Looe come together.
King Creature and Falmouth Soul Sensations have also been booked for Looe Saves the Day, the name of the new event which will run over the weekend of September 21 - 23.
Cornish favourites Company B and Black Friday will be appearing as part of a warm-up line up on Thursday September 20.
Further bands and musicians will be announced as they are confirmed.
Organisers of Looe Saves the Day have seen more than £30,000 in donations come in since an appeal was made last week.
But an additional £10k is needed to fulfil the safety requirements set out by Devon and Cornwall Police.
Entry to Looe Saves the Day will be free, with priority given to existing ticket holders for the cancelled Looe Music Festival, and to local residents.
’We have been overwhelmed with the level of support we have received from bands and artists who are keen to support the festival,’ said mayor of Looe and Cornwall Councillor Armand Toms.
’As you can imagine trying to juggle the programme to suit people’s availability is a challenge but we are confident that we will end up with an incredible line up.
’In the meantime we still need to raise more money to ensure that we can provide the additional safety arrangements which were identified last week. If we reach our £40,000 target for this, we can then look at using any additional funding to secure other acts for the programme.’
As well as the acts on the main stage, the festival will also see artists performing in local pubs and cafes, with buskers playing on the streets of Looe.
’The whole community is rallying round to ensure that the festival is a success,’ said local Cornwall Councillor and member of Looe Saves The Day festival steering group Edwina Hannaford.
’We are very grateful to everyone who has donated their time and money so far and, with continued support, I am sure that Looe will provide a real community event to remember.’
