The crew at Liskeard Community Fire Station successfully completed their 24 hour dance marathon on Saturday, November 27. The team danced their socks off for the whole 24 hours and in doing so raised over £7,100, exceeding last year’s total by almost £1000.

The event was widely supported by all aspects of the community; colleagues from the South Western Ambulance service payed a visit during one of their breaks to support the crew, members of Bodmin fire station also came and joined them on the dance floor whilst providing operational cover when Liskeard crew were committed to an incident. Looe fire station later joined to be on standby during their heavy metal hour. A local member of the community even dropped off a donation through one of the crew members letterbox.

A special thank you also went out to the local businesses who kindly donated towards the crew; Oddballs, a company who raises awareness of Testicular Cancer, provided the crew with a great package of hats, underwear, blankets and socks to get them in the spirit. BS Embroidery plus sponsored the crew hooking them up with t-shirts, hoodies and joggers and Print 2 Media donated banners to promote the event. Jewson Liskeard also kindly donated building materials so the crew could have their own dance floor and KJ Bromell Building Supplies supplied a tin of clear varnish to keep the dance floor looking good throughout the night!
