How enjoyable to read your feature in praise of the pasty.
So many are the arguments engendered by this tasty dish that I doubt there is such a thing as a definitive Cornish Pasty.
I have a vague recollection that the expression "fourteen oared oggies" was used to describe very large ones.
Does anyone remember the lunchtime pasties provided by "The Fountain" round about 1947/48?
They were made strictly to order by the then cleaning lady (whose name escapes me). The orders had to be placed by the previous day.
I can say without hesitation, that they were the finest pasties I have ever eaten.
