A successful fundraising initiative has been revived by Rotarians and the Lostwithiel-based Trewithen Dairy to help raise money for the End Polio Now campaign. Two years ago the dairy donated a number of classic pint milk bottles to every Rotary Club in Cornwall and West Devon and, within four months, over £10,000 was raised by Rotarians and was then matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, resulting in £30,000 being raised to help defeat this crippling disease. The Rotary Club’s foundation committee has revived the campaign and has given out milk bottles to members. Trewithen Dairy founder Bill Clarke said: ‘Trewithen Dairy and the Rotary hope that people will take these bottles and fill them up for charity.
