THE people of Looe turned out to watch hundreds of pilot gig rowers from across the South West compete in the first big Cornwall Pilot Gig Association event of the season.
The weather could have been kinder to the 38 clubs at the Millendreath beach resort, but the enthusiasm of the teams brought out some fierce competition.
In the Tribute events, the Men's A and B races were both won by Falmouth, with Looe coming fourth out of 33 and third out of 23 respectively.
