TRADITIONAL games and races, a visit from the fire engine and lots of fun for all ages made the Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Lions Club Autumn Fete a great success.
It was the first such fundraising event the Lions have been able to hold since before the Covid-19 pandemic, and families were out in the sunshine to enjoy the community spirit on the Cambridge Field.
While youngsters enjoyed the bouncy castle and visiting the fire engine to see how the fire fighters use their equipment, Torpoint Lions were there to answer all club-related questions and to show off their new gazebo.
To the amusement of all the children they were able to challenge first the firefighters and then the Lions to a tug of war and beat all-comers. A sack race, egg and spoon race and a three-legged race delighted spectators.
“All in all the event was a great success with a chance for fundraisers to make some money for their charities, for clubs to meet the public, and for the children to have some outdoor fun,” said a club spokesperson.
“A big thank you to the Lions and all the supporters that made the day so special for everyone.”
