The Torpoint Ferry service is due to be suspended tomorrow morning (Friday) for more than one hour.
The service across the River Tamar between Torpoint and Devonport will be halted as the nuclear submarine HMS Vengeance leaves Devonport Naval Base. The last ferry from Torpoint will be the 9.10am service and the last ferry from Devonport will leave at 9.15am. Services will resume after 10.40am. The submarine was due to leave yesterday but the departure was postponed.
Ferry general manager David List said emergency vehicles may be able to use the ferries during the service suspension but this would depend on the position of the naval craft.
The arrival of the nuclear submarine HMS Vanguard on Tuesday morning led to the suspension of the ferry service and delays for motorists and foot passengers.
