THERE will be a reduced service on the Torpoint Ferry this morning (Friday, February 5).

From approximately 9am, or once rush hour traffic is cleared, the service will cut back to two ferries. Managers said: ’We will return to ‘Three ferry Friday’ as soon as possible but it is likely to be around mid-day assuming no problems.

’The reason is that we need to carry out some preventative maintenance on one of the sets of chains that can only be done in certain tidal and weather conditions. This work was originally scheduled for Wednesday but it had to be postponed due to the high winds.

’We apologise for any delays this may cause.’
