PARENTS and staff are angry that a replacement mobile phone mast has been put up close to school grounds. Telecommunications company O2, has replaced its existing mobile mast at Liskeard fire station with a new mast which now has six antennae. This has raised concerns for Liskeard School and Community College's business manager Paul Taylor as the mast is only metres away from the school's tennis courts. 'You can suddenly see it from all areas,' said Mr Taylor. 'We have all sorts of health concerns because of its close proximity to the school.' Caradon District Council confirmed that it had been consulted over the construction of the new mast but planning permission did not have to be given because the mast was under 15 metres in height.
