A SHOP owner was left devastated after vandals hit his shop – just a day after he had finished re-decorating.
Gary Buckthought, who owns Taste of the Westcountry farm shop in St Cleer, finished the work on Friday, after spending a week painting the front of the shop as well as making new wooden boards to advertise offers.
But when he and his staff came to open up on Sunday, they were greeted with a black line sprayed right across their newly decorated shop and offer boards.
Gary has offered a £100 reward for anyone who may have any information on the incident.
'Because we are one of the first shops you see when you come into the village, we had tried to make the shop look as appealing as possible,' said Gary, who has owned the shop for six years.
Gary thinks the vandals used car spray paint.
'Even with the most powerful pressure washer, we can't get the spray paint off the walls,' he said.
John Beaven, the former owner of Addington filling station in Liskeard for 21 years, heard about the problem and has donated a set of CCTV cameras to the shop.
